Choosing the best air conditioner unit is not easy and we are here to help. Below are some tips to remember before you buy.

Choose the right A/C company.

An air conditioner unit is not like that appliance you un-box and plug into the wall. There are so many variables and engineered specifications the company must do right, for your unit to work properly.

The first thing to do, do your research on some of companies in your area. Look for: genuine customer reviews, where their offices are located, 24/7 service, service charges (in-warranty and out of warranty), yearly tune up prices, certified employees, background checked employees, drug tested employees, size of business (number of employees) it helps to know if your unit breaks down they are capable of getting to you, years in business, family owned.

The second thing to do, get your bids. At this point you are ready to call companies into your home to look at your personal application. When collecting your bids you want to stay around 3 bids. The last thing you want is to get confused having 5-10 different companies coming in telling you something different. Keep it simple and compare apples to apples. Things to look for: SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) the higher this number is the more energy efficient your unit will be, unit size – you want to feel confident the company is putting in the proper size unit, brands – stay away from builder grade brands as they will not last as long, extras – compare what the company is willing to give you before you ask for anything (this shows you the integrity of the company), never show a company other bids before you make the deal, price – stay away from cheap Charley (a bid that is significantly lower) you will end up paying more down the road making your investment value drop, time – you want a company that is willing to spend the time to do it right the first time. If you could choose how long your a/c will last 3-5 years, 5-10 years, or 10-15+ years the answer is simple. Most people want to get the most out of there investment. Its all about choosing the right company and 70% of the life of your a/c unit depends on that company.
